FutureFaith is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit building planetary solutions through harnessing the world's oldest and most trusted institutions, faith communities.

Rooted in the new moral economy framework, these partnerships don't just advocate for change; they build infrastructure for transformation. From the first faith-forward strategies at UN conventions to pioneering frameworks that bridge islamic finance with ocean conservation, we're demonstrating that faith institutions aren't add-ons to planetary solutions. They're foundational.

The Three Great Restorations

FutureFaith works toward what we call the three great restorations.

Ecosystem Restoration, healing and renewing our planet's wounded systems;

Economic Restoration, reimagining how we exchange value without extraction;

Inner Restoration, renewing our moral imagination when despair threatens to narrow our vision of what's possible.

Land Restoration
Land is not property in many faith traditions, it's a sacred trust passed between generations. For the first time, this ancient understanding is being systematically integrated into global land governance.Under the G20 Global Land Initiative, our team established the first faith-forward strategy for the UNCCD and led the first-ever global stocktake on faith-based land restoration.

From Buddhist forest monasteries in Thailand protecting watersheds to Christian land trusts in Kenya practicing regenerative agriculture, these communities demonstrate that ecosystem restoration rooted in spiritual values creates resilience that endures. They're living laboratories showing what economic restoration looks like when land becomes kin rather than commodity.

Ocean Action
Coastal communities have always known what science is now confirming: oceans are sacred, and their health is inseparable from our own. FutureFaith is building the first systematic engagement of faith communities in ocean conservation, from grassroots coastal networks to the highest levels of international policy.

This work spans multiple fronts: mobilizing faith organizations for marine protection, developing frameworks that bridge spiritual values with ocean governance, and creating spaces where religious leaders shape ocean policy alongside scientists and decision-makers.

In 2025, this culminated in the groundbreaking Faiths for UNOC3 campaign.This work continues beyond UNOC3, building networks of coastal faith communities, developing faith-based marine conservation programs.

Rio Conventions Leadership
For decades, climate, land, and biodiversity have been addressed separately,different conventions, different stakeholders, fragmented action. Faith communities have always understood these as inseparable dimensions of creation

FutureFaith coordinates faith engagement across all three Rio Conventions, biodiversity (UNCBD), land (UNCCD), and climate (UNFCCC).

We host Faiths for Biodiversity under the UNCDB. We serve as lead advisor for faith engagement under UNCCD-G20 GLI. We facilitate strategies toward the UNFCCC.

We launched the Rio COP Faith Call to Action, the first coordinated statement across all three conventions.This creates systematic pathways for faith inclusion in global governance.
Key Resources
Biodiversity
FutureFaith hosts Faiths for Biodiveristy, an nternational coalition of faith-based organizations and conservation groups mobilizing urgent action to halt and reverse biodiversity loss.

Formed in the lead-up to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) COP15, the coalition advocates for ambitious implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, provides a platform for joint advocacy at key international moments, and connects members with resources on faith and conservation. FutureFaith serves as the coalition's host organization.
Key Resources
Faith Houses
When world leaders gather to build planetary solutions, spiritual leaders and communities stewarding creation for generations should be at the center, not the margins. Faith Houses are dedicated spaces at major UN conferences where this becomes reality.

The first-ever Faith House at a UN Ocean Conference brought coastal imams, island pastors, and indigenous ocean guardians into dialogue with marine scientists and policy makers. Building on UNOC3, we established a Faith House at UNGA, broadening engagement across climate, biodiversity, and sustainable development.

This created a replicable model: faith not as symbolic addition but as essential infrastructure for building solutions.These spaces enable all Three Great Restorations, ecosystem healing, economic transformation, and inner renewal happening simultaneously in community.
